Exploring New Restaurants on The Delaware Shore

On a recent visit I was able to check out several new restaurants to add to your must visit list for this Summer.

The Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes is “like a backyard cookout every day.” It’s a laid back restaurant with excellent made from scratch fare and house made brews. Loved their hammocks outside on their small sandy beach and there is also a play area for the kids. Be sure to check out their daily live music schedule. I enjoyed a fresh blackened mahi mahi sandwich with their crunchy house made chips. www.crookedhammockbrewery.com

In Rehoboth Beach it’s easy to walk to so many wonderful restaurants. On my list was the new Dogfish Beer Restaurant, Chesapeake & Maine. Fresh seafood from the Chesapeake to Maine is the feature here, hence the name. Try the raw bar offerings which are excellent and at least one person must order the Summer lobster risotto so everyone can share a bite. The Black Bass a la Plancha was served with innovative ingredients that paired perfectly together. Try one of their specialty beers or a refreshing cocktail, such as the Strawberry Basil Collins. www.dogfish.com/eats/chesapeake-maine/menu.htm

Nage has always been a popular restaurant in Rehoboth Beach and now with a name change and new menu, Fork and Flask at Nage, it’s still one of my top choices while in town. Expect delectable coastal cuisine including the freshest seafood and local ingredients utilized as much as possible. The menu divided into Cultivated, Caught & Raised offers such selections as Spaghetti Chittara, Thai Lobster Roll and the Famous Nage Burger. Please leave room for dessert as the Frozen Milkshake pie is heavenly and definitely shareable. Nice cocktail and wine list, as well www.forkandflask.com
