Taking the time to attend these shows can be a boost to your wedding planning. Vendors will have samples, ideas, and opportunities to meet the people you may end up choosing to work with on your wedding. It’s truly a great opportunity to get to know those that will be helping you design the day of your dreams!
Consider these factors when attending:
- If the venue you would like to use for your wedding or reception holds an open house, definately attend! They will be featuring vendors that they frequently work with, giving you a chance to talk to caterers, florists, etc. in person before choosing from the approved vendor list.
- Bring a tote bag with you to collect all of the information that you’ll see, especially at the larger convention-style shows. Every single vendor (and sometimes there are hundreds!) will want to send you home with a business card, a flyer, a sample, etc. Having a conventient place to hold on to your goodies will be a life saver.
- Enter the contests! Not only will you have a chance to win great prizes, you’ll be entered into communication databases where vendors will often send you discounts after the show.
- Print labels with your contact information. Many vendors will ask you to fill out forms; rather than repeating this task over and over by hand, pre-printed labels will save you time and effort.
