Blog PostHow To Plan An Unforgettable Wedding Weekend

Wedding weekends can give you an opportunity to bond with your friends and loved ones in a way that the usual one-day events cannot. After all, there will surely be some friends and relatives that you haven’t seen in months, perhaps even years, and what a better way to catch up than during an event that celebrates love. Below are a few suggestions on how to plan the best 3-day wedding weekend.

Inform Your Guests On Time

Give your guests as much notice as you can. We recommend at least 6-8 months, so they can plan their trip, find the most affordable accommodation, take days off work and possibly find over night child care if they have children.

Keep Distance In Mind

If the activities you have in mind for your wedding will take place at more than one venue, try to choose venues that are not too far from each other. If that’s not possible, provide your guests with transport options. It might also be a good idea to print small maps of the city and mark where the events will be held, so your guests can always see where they should be and how to get there.

Give Welcome Bags

Welcome bags are a nice sign of appreciation and are extremely helpful if they contain the right items. You can include a printed itinerary, the above-mentioned map of events, transportation information, important phone numbers and a couple of fun local gifts. It might also be a good idea to include some useful items from Go Travel, like a Pocket Poncho or Travel Raincoat in case of rain.

Let Guests Know What To Expect

Your guests should know what their expenses will be and what you are offering to cover. The best way to inform them of these details is through your wedding website or the invitation.

Send Guidelines

Your guests should know how to dress for each of the events. So, if you’re planning a hiking trip, tell them to bring hiking shoes, bug spray, appropriate clothes, etc. If there will be a party next to a swimming pool, ask them to bring their bathing suits.
