Unique and Edible Wedding Details: One Bride’s Story

My husband and I got the ideas for our centerpieces from Pinterest. We found this while searching for cake pops. The picture from Pinterest outlined our idea.

From there I thought – why not make the room pop with color and add the little LED lights in the vase and put in glass gems to dress it up a little bit? My husband and I purchased all the pieces ourselves, the jars were bought from Michaels, the gems and LED lights (in pink) were bought from JoAnn Fabrics.


We used about 18-20 cake pops per vase, and we had 8 guests per table. The table numbers were our own idea. We thought that since we are having edible centerpieces, why not make the numbers edible too?! Our baker, Denise Leach, made chocolate numbers and covered them in glitter.  She set up the centerpieces the day of the wedding, and helped work with our vision throughout the whole process to make it perfect.

We then realized we were on a candy theme, and decided to make the place cards edible too. Using Pinterest again, I searched “cookie place cards” and got inspired. We added our own touch by making the girls hearts and the guys little jerseys (the only thing my hubby got as his own touch in the wedding,lol!)




Pinterest was very inspiring to us for most of our ideas. We were able to start with the basics, and with the help of our baker, use our imagination and creativity to come up with the rest. All of our guests loved the idea because by the end of the night there were no cake pops left!
