Colin introduced me to his favorite local band when we first started dating – Silent Old Mountains. We followed them for years and absolutely love going to their shows. In June of 2019 SOM played a show at the Sky Stage in Frederick. The lead singer, Andrew, invited Colin to the stage to say a few words about the band. Instead, he proposed in front of a full crowd. Definitely, a night to remember!
We have spent our entire relationship exploring the outdoors, so it was important to us that our venue capture our love of nature. Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood in the fall was absolutely stunning – the colors were everything we dreamt of.

I wanted to keep our wedding day light-hearted. My bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song (my favorite series/movie we saw on our first date). I even had one of the girls carry a stuffed dinosaur – in hopes to take a little bit of the jitters away for Colin.

My family is Irish and we were able to incorporate that through a celtic knot ceremony, my dad rocking a kilt, and a little drunken dancing to Dropkick Murphys.

Someone lost my vows and after a moment of terror I had to make vows on the fly, I think it turned out well because he still said I do 🙂

We had a small figurine of our dog Oliver made for the cake, we foster dogs and he is a huge part of our family. I had a portrait of Colin and me painted by our favorite artist -Goodloe Byron Frederick, MD.
