I must first day that Julie Woods and the staff at the hotel are amazing. I was originally going to only have my wedding reception there but due to many out of town guests and the hour drive that the venue was from my church, my fiancé and I decided to have the everything there, including our rehearsal dinner at Grillfire.
If you haven’t been to the hotel yet, you must go!! It is very modern and sleek. I stayed in the executive level suite and it was perfect for me and my bridesmaids (8) to get ready. The wedding ceremony was held in the Patuxent ballroom and we had about 130 guests, 3 photographers, 2 classical musicians and a videographer. It was a little tight at the front of the room with the bridal party (15) but it was intimate just like we wanted. Cocktail hour was held in the foyer and the reception was in the entire Chesapeake ballroom.
The catering staff was great and we had a special staff member serve our sweetheart table the entire night! The food was great and the hotel also provided our wedding cake. They outsource the cake to a local pastry chef and you have the option to pick from 30 designs. The only negative that I do have about the wedding was that the orchids that were pictures on the wedding cake that I chose, were not on the cake the day of the wedding 🙁
Overall we had a great time and all of our guests are still talking about how wonderful of a time they had.
We had our ceremony and reception at The Hotel. We could not have asked for a better location and staff. Julie is a pleasure to work with and certainly knows her business. The food was delicious as well as the wine. We are still getting compliments on the beauty of the ceremony and the reception.
We used the hotel for our ceremony and reception and I could not have imagined a better venue for my wedding! The hotel is beautiful and the staff was so incredibly helpful. Julie was our main contact and she was so accommodating. She really helped stay in our budget and really helped organize everything around our schedule. I would have the most random questions 10 times a day sometimes and Julie would answer every single one of them and in a timely manner. She guided us so well through the whole process, I wasn’t worried about a thing the whole time. Julie and the rest of the staff were so nice and so easy to work with and the day of the wedding everything went perfectly (literally- between the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, hotel accommodations for our guests…EVERYTHING was perfect!) We received so many compliments on the hotel from just how beautiful it was to the delicious food. There was no real competition when it came to picking a venue, as soon as we saw the hotel and met the staff it was a no-brainer. They really cared about making sure everything turned out beautifully for us.
Just had our wedding here on this past Saturday and it came out amazing!!! Everyone loved the venue and service. The wife and I came across this place while looking for venues in the Washington DC area. Our friend recommended this place to us so we checked it out and fell in love with it. This hotel has the modern/cool boutique hotel vibe and that is exactly what we were looking for. Also, if this hotel was in Washington DC, it would have cost us at least double. Julie and Carl and her team were amazing and provided the best service. They also upgraded our room to the corner suite, which was fabulous! It had a separate living area with two bathrooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a venue!!!!
