As soon as Ed and I got engaged we had appointments with many different reception sites all over Baltimore City. The first place Ed and I visited we thought we were sold. Ed and I had other appointments scheduled for that night. We did not want to be rude so we decided to still go ahead and meet with the other reception sites. Boy am I glad we did!! Our second appointment was at the Engineers Club. As soon as Ed and I walked into the Club we grabbed hands and looked at each other, we knew this is was it!

When entering the Engineers Club you can not help but notice its incredible architecture! We met with Asha and she took us through the entire club. There are four rooms in the Club; one more beautiful than the next. You get to figure out how you want to use all of the rooms because if you book there you have the venue to yourself for the whole day!

Asha was very easy to work with. She helped us figure out the best way to set up the club for our special day/night. Ed and I were looking for more of a cocktail style reception and some other venues said that they did not know how to make that happen. Asha gave us about 5 different options on how this could be achieved right on the spot.

I had previously read some reviews about the food. I tried to go into our tasting without any expectations because I did not want to be disappointed. My highest expectation was blown! The food was GREAT! The crab cakes are some of the best crab cakes I have EVER had!

The venue looked INCREDIBLE! The staff was so helpful and friendly!

I am getting compliments from everyone that was there! If I had to do it again I would do the exact same thing!

I 100% would recommend the Engineer's Club for your venue! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Let me just take a moment to express how AMAZING Asha is. This woman is nothing less than Superwoman. Asha was responsive, amicable, & willing to do whatever it took to make me happy. I trusted her completely with all tasks related to the wedding. If you have Asha, there is no need to even think about having a wedding planner! She did it all. She is nothing short of amazing to work with.

Her staff and that venue run events like CLOCKWORK. Asha was amenable to bartering the price if we were flexible on payment. I always felt welcome at the venue, and I would often stop by to get ideas and see layouts.

On the Engineer's club: What an amazing venue. It is a bit pricey. Realize that you will be paying for a membership fee just for the privilege of being ABLE to access the grounds for a wedding. This fee is approx 3k, and that is what I paid, though I have heard other brides bartered that price down a bit. Then you have to have a minimum of 120 guests (approx) for Sat. Plates will run you between $120-150 pp. It does sound like a lot. But here are other things you are getting wrapped up in that price:

- tables/chairs/linens
- No need to decorate because this place is BEAUTIFUL and full of history. If you have never seen it, google it right now!

Since they do so many weddings, they had an OVERSTOCK of wedding-related items. I didn't need centerpieces because they have an entire ROOM dedicated to glass flower vases/jars/candelabras/baskets/ etc. They have silk flowers. They have excess candles. Cake stand/cutters.... you get the point. Just ask and if they have it, you are welcome to use it.

Everyone could not stop complimenting me on the location and how delicious the food was or how friendly and fun the staff was (my dad grabbed one of the lady servers and started dancing with her in the middle of the night to which she happily obliged!).

Thank you Engineer's club for an unforgettable wedding.
Thank you Asha for being my rock star during this process!!!

We just had our wedding at the club this weekend and it exceeded expectations. We threw a big holiday party that we happened to get married at and Asha and all the staff were amazing! The club is gorgeous with character you won't find anywhere else and then there was the food which was great! We did cocktail style reception, the food was constantly replenished and great value for the price (people are still talking about the crab dip days later). All came together for a night that just blew us away and we likely to join the club itself.

We could not have been happier with our experience at the Engineers Club. The event coordinator, Asha, was helpful throughout the planning process, working with us on a budget that felt comfortable to us, suggesting options but never imposing her own tastes. It helped that she already knew all of our vendors from past weddings and could coordinate directly with them when necessary. When we had guests with specific needs that popped up the weeks before and the night of the wedding, she and her staff were really attentive. On the day of the wedding, everything moved seamlessly. Asha was professional and responsive while maintaining that cheery, upbeat demeanor that won us over on our initial visit to the space. (So long as you have her, there is no need to hire a separate wedding planner.)

Speaking of the space, it's beautiful and gives you a lot of options, especially for a winter wedding (ours was in January). We used the atrium for an afternoon ceremony and the after-dinner dancing. We used the ballroom for dinner. Many of the rooms look like they could be scenes from Downton Abbey, and the setting (ex: a fireplace, a spiral staircase, a study) adds a classical look to the photos without the need for extra decoration. We also liked that the wedding party could arrive early in the day and get ready on site. Lastly, I'll mention the food. Our guests raved about the crab cakes, the lamb chops, and the carving stations, though I have say, what was most remarkable was the consistency in quality. Everything was delicious.

We really can't say enough good things about Asha or the Engineers Club and feel confident giving our stamp of approval to anyone else considering this venue.

We loved this venue. We had the dinner in the atrium, it was like we were outside in a European courtyard, without the heat (an August wedding). The reception was in the ballroom, very spacious. The ceremony was in the front room, which has a large window that brought a lot of light into the room. There are several other rooms on the first floor that we used, one for the dessert buffet and candy bar, another for the bridal party to relax after the ceremony, before the party. Also, there is an upstairs and downstairs that we had access. The upstairs was where the bridal party could dress and relax. It was very spacious, with mirrors and the lighting was great for getting ready. Also, a separate room for food setup. Downstairs was where the groom's party could hang out. There were a bar and a pool table. We had the entire place for the whole day for an evening wedding. We did not have to worry about another party. The venue is so attractive, that we did not have to spend too much on flowers and decorations. The people there are very helpful and available. I would highly recommend this venue.

The name is unassuming, but the venue is extraordinary! The Garrett-Jacobs Mansion of the Engineers Club is a perfectly preserved 19th century elegant and romantic setting for a wedding. The mansion even has a fully enclosed "garden" with a skylight ceiling if you want an outdoor wedding, but don't want to take a chance on the weather. The event coordinator (Asha) is amazing and she organized many, many details to make our daughter's dream wedding come true! The food was outstanding. This is the best wedding venue in Baltimore.

Absolutely beautiful venue; warm, friendly, and professional staff; just a dream of a place to get married! Asha was a pleasure to work with. The food was amazing – from appetizers to dinner. We could not have imagined a more special place to get married than the Engineers Club.

This venue is seriously gorgeous - all of my guests were in awe as soon as they walked in the door, as were we! Everything about this place is fantastic - the food, decor, service, you name it. Asha was super helpful throughout the whole process and knew what needed to be done before I did.

What. A. Venue. One of our guests commented that it looked like they went to a wedding at Versailles. The Engineers Club was absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect for our out-of-town guests who were able to walk less than a block to their hotels. It was great having access to the venue the whole day to get ready. Asha and the rest of the staff were easy to work with and accommodating of our requests as well.

The venue is so stunning at first glance it is hard not to fall in love. So much space, so gorgeous with an old-world glamours feel. A million different options for photos and arrangements of events. So you think cannot get much better... then it does. At the tasting I wasn't expecting much since the venue is so beautiful you do not need great food. Was blown away because every hors d'oeuvres was phenomenal. Then the mains. Heavenly. Oh and by choosing the venue you become members in the club, so can attending great events (orchestra, teas, dance classes) and incredible brunch. Really get a great feel of the space prior to the big event so it feels more comfortable day of. Then there is the wonderful advantage that you get the whole building for the day. No set times to be in or out. Showed up at 9 am, got hair and makeup there, had lunch, really felt at ease and got to enjoy the whole day. To top it all off the staff was so wonderful. Had to thank each of them individually because they worked their butts off, but also were fun, sweet people. Those bartenders were fabulous and the event coordinator, Asha, was so amazing I think I am actually going to miss her. Could not be happier myself, but had countless compliments from guests. Not a single regret.

The engineers club was such a beautiful venue for our wedding. The space is just gorgeous, and it offers so many possibilities for a wedding! You get the entire space for yourself, with all of its history and beauty! But the Engineers club is more than just a beautiful venue. The food served for the wedding was amazing, they have the best crab cakes and I still dream about the lamb!

Last but not least, the staff was super helpful, always available, and going the extra mile to satisfy our guests!

I also wanted to say thank you to Asha, who was always available to answer our (numerous) questions, and who basically planned our wedding for us! She was a great resource for vendors and ideas and was also present all day and evening to coordinate the event. We would not have been able to have such a wonderful day without Asha!

Its been about a week since my wedding and the one piece of feedback I keep hearing from guests is how much they ADORED the venue and the venue staff. Not only is Asha the queen of event planning, but Ms. T and all of the Club staff members assisted in giving me and my guests the best possible experience we could have possibly hoped for. They were responsive, accommodating, kind, helpful, and always 2 steps ahead of me!! Every single staff member that worked at my wedding deserves an employee of the month award - I've seriously never seen anything like how hard they all worked for us. Our entire wedding went off so smoothly without anything going wrong - that's seriously unheard of, and I credit that entirely to the expertise of the staff at this venue. I can't thank them enough for the beautiful day they gave us!

The Engineer’s Club at the Garret-Jacobs Mansion is the most elegant of wedding venues with a phenomenal staff. Asha Hislop is the wedding coordinator for the venue, and she is a superstar. Asha and her staff took care of every little detail on the day of the wedding, including bustling my dress after the ceremony? We had the entire mansion to ourselves the day of the wedding, with the bridal party getting ready in a suite upstairs and the grooms’ party getting ready in a downstairs suite. Our family and friends are still raving about the food and drinks (we served the Chicken Oscar and the New York Strip Teriyaki), and how friendly and helpful the staff was. The Club was so gorgeously decorated for our December wedding, that my Facebook feed is filled with guests taking family photos all over the venue. We all felt like we stepped write into an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel- thank you for a glamorous and absolutely magical wedding day!
